Pioneer Highway – Fir Island Road
- Client: Skagit County Public Works
- Location: Conway, WA
- Completed: July 2015
- Architect: Skagit County Public Works
Description
To construct one roundabout to combine two intersections, this project required pulverizing existing asphalt, regrinding and new 12-inch thick asphalt. Project management included storm and water, along with erosion control, clearing, landscaping and signage. Precise traffic control was needed, due to adjacent highway and freeway ramps, and active railroad tracks. This allowed for local businesses to remain accessible, and kept traffic congestion at a minimum.
